By now you've heard the fantastic news that we are geting married on September 12, 2009, in Fiji. We are very excited that you are planning to join us for our wedding and a week of festivities to celebrate.
Why Fiji?
We wanted a destination wedding and Fiji was a favourite, especially as Lawrence was christened at the local Methodist church in Cuvu, Sigatoka. Fiji also allows us to have a unique wedding experience shared with our dearest friends and family.
Flights and accommodation?
We have received quotes back from Sue at Essence Tours for flights & accommodations. Flights are either with Air Pacific or Pacific Blue, and accommodation quotes have been done for both the Outrigger on the Lagoon and the Tambua Sands Beach Resort. If you have not received your quote please let me know.
Activities
There will be a pre meet and greet lunch, 12 pm, on Friday 11 September 2009 at the Vale Ni Kana, Outrigger on the Lagoon, Fiji. The Main Event on Saturday at 3 pm at the Bure Ni Loloma Chapel, Outrigger on the Lagoon, Fiji, followed by dinner and dancing in the Reef Room, Outrigger on the Lagoon, Fiji. We will have a farewell dinner on Tuesday 15 September, the Meke and Lovo (Fijian dance and feast), Outrigger on the Lagoon, Fiji. We will be going into honeymoon seclusion after that, so be sure to get your fill of us beforehand as we will be definitely incommunicado!
The Outrigger on the Lagoon, Fiji offers many activities ranging from snorkeling to scuba diving, golf to shopping, organised village tours & for the most discerning, BEBE spa treatments (a must I have been assured). Any of these activities or for more information you can confirm with the resort directly on sales@outriggerfiji.com.fj
Weather
Fiji is tropically warm year-round. The average temperature ranges from 19C at night to 29C during the day. A light sweater or jacket may be necessary at night. The rest of the time, wear plenty of sunscreen and a hat (but for those who know Lawrence well, he won't be wearing either)!
Dress
With the exception of our wedding ceremony and the celebration that follows on Saturday - which at this stage is Maori/Polynesian Islands theme - all other activities are strictly casual. Penalties for overdressing will be administered (did I hear someone suggest a round at the bar)!
